From the land of the Maori, sheep, and Flight of the Conchords also comes some of the world’s finest hops. These tropical and citrus fruit-forward hops share similar flavour and aroma characteristics with wine grapes grown in New Zealand. Usually considered too wild for many major brewers, these eccentric hops are some of the most sought after by craft breweries, and they’re featured in many of our favourite beers. When we finally got our hands on some of the varieties (Nelson Sauvin, Riwaka, and Motueka) a few months ago, we wanted to put them in a beer that would feature them in all their Kiwi glory. So we sprinkled these hops into a thick, juicy, double dry-hopped, double IPA brewed with loads of flaked oats to give you something to chew.
